For this commercial salon interior design in Fairfax, Virginia, we created a light, airy space inspired by Scandinavian simplicity with a relaxed California-chic sensibility. Creamy white walls, polished concrete floors, warm walnut cabinetry, sculptural lighting, and modern brass sconces establish a clean yet inviting foundation, while sleek mirrors and thoughtfully styled display moments add an elevated residential feel. Striking architectural arches became a defining feature of the salon, framing both the shampoo bar and mixing station and bringing softness to the open commercial space. Textural pendant lighting and subtle coastal influences introduce warmth and movement without compromising the streamlined palette. The overall goal was to design a Fairfax hair salon that felt less like a traditional business and more like a beautifully curated home, balancing Scandinavian-inspired minimalism, natural materials, modern function, and a welcoming sense of ease.
