Timeless Kitchen Renovation

For this custom kitchen renovation in Leesburg, Virginia, we reimagined the space with a balance of timeless detail, thoughtful function, and elevated architectural character. Because a classic white kitchen will never go out of style, we kept the cabinetry light and refined, extending it to the ceiling with glass-front display boxes designed to showcase a collected assortment of blue-and-white china. We added shiplap to the ceiling to bring warmth and architectural interest overhead, while handmade 4x4 ceramic tile was carried all the way to the ceiling for added texture and continuity. Around the range, we removed the upper cabinets to create intentional negative space, then introduced a custom hood framed by decorative sconces for a more open and artful focal point. A custom Roman shade in a traditional Schumacher fabric brings color and pattern to the window, functioning almost like a piece of artwork within the otherwise timeless palette. The kitchen island was finished in a historic dark green tone that was custom matched to the adjoining mudroom lockers, creating cohesion between spaces, while oversized brass pendants were selected specifically for the scale of the expansive kitchen. Behind the scenes, we incorporated highly functional storage including a pull-out pantry with a hidden microwave, dedicated baking sheet and cookie cutter organization, and built-in spice drawers. The result is a layered, highly functional Leesburg kitchen design that feels classic, collected, and enduring while still offering plenty of personality.
